View the original at The Forward“We want to make sure a client walking in feels welcome,” said the Associate Director of JFCS and LGBTQ ally, Beth Wynne. Wynne said that the JFCS’s journey started three and a half years ago. The service center joined a cohort of agencies under The Network and started all day training to manifest their mission for equality. Training came under partnership with the LGBTQ Jewish, support, and training organization Keshet, and the JFCS of Philadelphia.
View the original at Out in JerseyDozens of representatives from 14 Jewish organizations gathered at the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre (MNJCC) in downtown Toronto on March 4 for a first-of-its-kind training on LGBTQ issues in the Jewish community hosted by Keshet, a U.S.-based organization that focuses on equality in Jewish life for LGBTQ people. The session was part of Keshet’s leadership project, which trains the heads of Jewish organizations to build a yearlong LGBTQ inclusion plan for their organizations, and the participants in attendance represented the UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, various Hillels, synagogues, care homes and more.
